Taken on 2010 April 04 at 19:35UT. Mercury's elongation is 18.5 deg (0.5 deg from max) and just 3 deg from Venus who's elongation is 20.1 deg and altitude of 7.75 deg. The image was acquired using a Canon 400D and zoom lens set at approx. 200mm @ f5
with a 1 second exposure.

An Investigation into the Phase Anomaly of Venus
It has been known for some time that a difference between observed and theoretical phase of Venus is apparent, not only at dichotomy (Schroter's Effect) but throughout the planet's cycle, CMHAS conducted an experiment to study this effect.

CMHASD - Planets
